The 6′ 1″, 190 lbs WR from Ocala Trinity is going to be a Red Raider. Kadron Boone a 4-star recruit from rivals.com and 17th ranked WR on ESPN had offers from fifteen programs including the Gators.
ESPN’s Tom Luginbill said of the news, “Boone is so polished and productive. What he lacks in top end speed he makes up for with savvy, know-how and great route running ability. This is an important pick-up for Tech as they have expanded their recruiting net into fertile ground and also are replenishing their receiving corp with terrific skill level.”
We all have stories about the one that got a way. Talk to any fisherman and he/she will be able to talk for hours about the ones that got away. Since 2005 when Urban Meyer was hired a head football coach of the University of Florida, there are some fish tales about those recruits that have gotten away.
Since coming on board in 2005, Coach Meyer has landed some of the top-ranked recruiting classes in the nation, but each year there has been that one big fish that got away. So time to sit back and daydream about these top five talents that the Gators had on the line but got away.
5. Jamie Harper RB Class of 2007
Jamie is a rare breed of speed, size, explosiveness, and power. He would have been a great running back to have in the spread since he is a dual threat back with soft hands and great field vision. The Gators were in the running with him to the very end, but he was the second back the Gators lost to Clemson. Harper sat be hind CJ Spiller and James Davis in the 2008 season and only managed 34 carries for 133 yards.
Florida Gators 10th commitment for the 2010 recruiting class. A tremendous football talent. A WR/DB from Cape Coral, Florida, 6-0, 170. A supreme play maker recruited by Florida as a WR/Return man.
