Gators With Second Best Recruiting Class In The SEC

by David on January 20, 2012

According to ESPN recruiting,  defending champions Alabama tops the list nationally with Florida ranked No. 4 nationally and Georgia No. 5.  Florida has eight ESPNU 150 prospects committed, Alabama has twelve and Georgia has five.

The Crimson Tide, Gators and Bulldogs are the only three SEC teams in the top 10 nationally. Texas A&M was previously No. 9, but tumbled in these latest rankings to No. 12.

South Carolina is No. 14 and making a push for its third top 15 class in the past four years.

Auburn is No. 15, followed by LSU at No. 16, Tennessee at No. 20, and Vanderbilt at No. 23. James Franklin has four four-star prospects committed in what would be the highest rated signing class in Vanderbilt history.

Missouri and Arkansas are among the five teams listed as being “On the Cusp.”

So, if you were using these rankings to get a read on how the SEC stacks up going into signing day, the pecking order would look something like this:

  • 1. Alabama
  • 2. Florida
  • 3. Georgia
  • 4. Texas A&M
  • 5. South Carolina
  • 6. Auburn
  • 7. LSU
  • 8. Tennessee
  • 9. Vanderbilt
  • 10. Missouri
  • 11. Arkansas
