I’m back from vacation refreshed and ready for the start of the 2009 College Football season. The Gators are set to start practice Thursday August 6th. The first two practices will be open to the public.
Freshman WR Andre Debose is showing he is going to be the replacement for Percy Harvin. He has taken a page out of Percy’s playbook already, with the report that Andre Debose is nursing a hamstring injury. This all-too-familiar situation reminds many Gator fans of the times when Percy was injured and unable to show his abilities to their fullest extent in practice.
While this is a little older story,I couldn’t help but bring it back up. The headline says it all: Broken sewage line sends waste through UGA campus. I wonder if they could even tell? I’m sure Athens didn’t have a much different smell.
Percy Harvin agrees to 5-year deal with Vikings. Harvin’s figures to be in the $13 million range with more than $8 million guaranteed.
Coach Brad Childress has said that it was important for Harvin, the 22nd overall pick in April’s draft, to get into camp as soon as possible. He’ll be asked to play a variety of roles for the Vikings this season, including receiver, running back and as a return man.
Is the Gators answer at Point Guard a Nimrod? Israeli point guard Nimrod Tishman told The Miami Herald on Friday that he hopes to attend the University of Florida this fall and play basketball for the Florida Gators. If the Gators don’t add Nimrod, then Erving Walker will be the only true PG on the team, and Kenny Boynton will be asked to carry some of the ball handling load.
Gators WR David Nelson talks about how this team has worked harder in the off season than the 2007 Gators did. He also talks about how the young Gator WR are going to step up in 2009.
